Fred was raised in Benton, Wisconsin where he obtained a strong work ethic as the son of a miner and carpenter. He grew up in a church where he was privileged to learn under the teaching of several very gifted and effective pastors. He has been New River's Senior Pastor since June 1989. He is a graduate of the Primitive Methodist School of Theology and was ordained in 1995.
Prior to answering the call to ministry, Fred worked 9 years for the John Deere Co., Dubuque, Iowa and 6 years as the manager of Lafayette Farm & Industry, Cuba City, WI.
Fred’s life mission is to present the message of Jesus in the most clear and understandable manner possible and to give accurate Biblical direction to help believers live the Christian life. His passion in life is bringing people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
In addition to his work as New River’s Pastor, Fred serves the denomination as a
District Superintendent and as the Director of the National Mission Board, overseeing
new church start-
Fred and his wife, Deb, have been married over 30 years. They have six great kids
and four beautiful grandchildren. In addition to his church ministry, Fred enjoys
spending time with his growing family, doing numerous home building and maintenance
projects, raising a few rabbits, and tending a small orange grove. As a Wisconsin
native he loves to cheer for the Packers and correctly calls himself a "fair-
