- For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of
yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with
sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given
you.

- 1I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have
received. 2Be completely humble and gentle; be patient,
bearing with one another in love.

5
|
- The only accurate way to understand ourselves is by what God is and by
what he does for us, not by what we are and what we do for him.

9
|
- The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying: “ Yes, I have loved you with
an everlasting love;
|
|
10
|
- This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent
his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.

|
11
|
- For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that
whosoever believes in Him would have eternal life.

- 38As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a
village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39She
had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what
he said.
|
|
18
|
- 40But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had
to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that
my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help
me!" 41"Martha, Martha," the Lord answered,
"you are worried and upset about many things, 42but only
one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be
taken away from her."
